There was a greek sculptor, painter, and architect named Phidias. He lived in the 5th century BCE. I decided to write my blog about Phidias because I love art. Also, I ofter read about his works in books and couldn’t help but wonder who the sculptor was behind the statues. Phidias is known as one of the best artists in Greece. I found him interesting because he sculpted the statue of Zeus at Olympia, the Athena Parthenos, and he designed the frieze on the Parthenon. I will compare Phidias’s work and theories to those of today. Phidias is known for his fabulous work and I am super excited to get to know more about his work, his life, and his theories.
